Hallockville Museum Farm’s mission is to take Long Island back to its family farming roots and explore their relevance today.
Beginning in 2020, Hallockville garden volunteers began replacing nonnative invasive plants with natives in a 5400 square foot area that we call The Habitat. Thus, we are bringing the landscape back to its native state, demonstrating its natural beauty.
Our vision is a lush garden that is home to native bees, butterflies, and birds. ReWild helped us realize this vision with a beautiful design of new shrubs and perennials:
Trees we planted: Scarlet Oak, Redbud, Dogwood, Swamp White Oak, Black Cherry
ReWild Shrubs: Fragrant Sumac, American Holly, Pussywillow, Viburnum, Huckleberry
ReWild Perennials: Foxglove Beardtongue, Great Blue Lobelia, Turtlehead, NY Ironweed, Culvers Root
